Editorial policy
This page explains how IPTV UK Guide decides what to publish, where our facts come from, how we handle recommendations for services our publisher owns, and how we fix mistakes. It describes what we actually do today, not what we hope to do later.
Who writes and checks our guides
Articles are written and checked by the IPTV UK Guide editorial team, the same team that runs IPTV Services and related IPTV brands. We do not present ourselves as independent reviewers and we do not use invented author names or portraits. Drafts may be prepared with AI writing tools. Every factual claim must trace back to a source listed on the page or to the published offer data for our own service, and a member of the team reviews each page before it goes live.
Evidence types
Every article card and byline shows one evidence label, so you can see what a page is based on:
- Published-offer comparison / Published-offer analysis
- Built from the providers' own offer pages, read on the date shown. We did not subscribe to or test the services compared.
- Official documentation review
- Based on documentation from software publishers, regulators or public bodies, linked in the sources.
- Operator-published facts
- Facts that a service states about itself, including our own IPTV Services. We label figures we have not checked independently, such as catalogue sizes.
- Editorial checklist
- Practical questions we recommend you answer. It is advice, not test results.
- General guidance, not device-tested
- Setup and troubleshooting steps written from official documentation and common app behaviour. We have not run them on every device model, and menus change with software updates.
- Hands-on test
- Used only when a page documents a real test: the device, software version, date, connection and what was measured. No page carries this label at launch.
How recommendations work
- We recommend IPTV Services, which our publisher owns, only for needs its published facts support: clearly published plan totals, a choice of one to five simultaneous connections and guided setup.
- A short ownership label sits beside every recommendation card, and the full ownership notice appears before the first recommendation or comparison on a page.
- Each recommendation lists its limitations, including what the service does not document.
- We do not publish star ratings, scores, “number one” awards, test badges, customer counts or invented reviews, for our own service or anyone else's.
- When a reader's needs are better met elsewhere, such as when documented broadcast rights are essential, we say so and point to routes that publish that information.
How we compare offers
- Third-party prices keep the currency, package conditions and date shown on the provider's own page, with a link to that page.
- We compare full prices for a stated term. We show a monthly figure only as a labelled calculation, never as a bill you will receive.
- When a provider does not publish something (a stream limit, a rights statement, a refund window), we write “not published” rather than guess.
- Links to a named third-party provider go to that provider. They never redirect to our own service.
- Links to IPTV Services checkout and trial pages carry referral tags (
utm_source=iptvukguide.com) so the owner can see which site a visit came from.
Legal, licensing and rights topics
We are not lawyers. Where a page mentions the TV Licence, broadcast rights or copyright, we quote and link to the official source and keep our own wording short. A professional-looking website or app, including ours, is not evidence that a service holds the rights to the channels it shows.
Updates and dates
The “updated” date changes only when we revise a page's content. We do not refresh dates to look current. Prices and offers are checked again before each content update; between updates, the provider's own page is the authority.
Corrections
If you find an error, email contact@iptvservices.online with the page address and the problem. Our corrections page explains what happens next and lists corrections we have made.
